Gay Marriage : ウィキペディア英語版
Same-sex marriage

Same-sex marriage, also known as gay marriage, is marriage between people of the same sex, either as a secular civil ceremony or in a religious setting.
In the late 20th century, religious rites of marriage without legal recognition became increasingly common. The first law providing for marriage of people of the same sex in modern times was enacted in the united states. , fourteen countries (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Uruguay) and certain sub-jurisdictions (parts of Denmark,〔Denmark proper. In Greenland, a law providing for same-sex marriage is not yet in force.〕 Mexico,〔Chihuahua, Coahuila, Guerrero, Quintana Roo and the Federal District (Mexico City).〕 the Netherlands,〔The Netherlands proper.〕 New Zealand,〔New Zealand proper.〕 the United KingdomEngland and Wales, Scotland and the Pitcairn Islands, notably excluding Northern Ireland〕 and the United States〔United States proper, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands and some tribal jurisdictions.〕) allow same-sex couples to marry. A similar law in Finland is not yet in force. Polls show rising support for legally recognizing same-sex marriage in the Americas, Australia and most of Europe.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.australianmarriageequality.org/who-supports-equality/a-majority-of-australians-support-marriage-equality/ )〕〔See

However, as of 2015 South Africa is the only African country where same-sex marriage is recognized, and none of the Asian countries have recognized same-sex marriage.
Introduction of same-sex marriage laws has varied by jurisdiction, being variously accomplished through legislative change to marriage laws, a court ruling based on constitutional guarantees of equality, or by direct popular vote (via ballot initiative or referendum). The recognition of same-sex marriage is a political and social issue, and also a religious issue in many countries, and debates continue to arise over whether people in same-sex relationships should be allowed marriage or some similar status (a civil union).〔(【引用サイトリンク】url= https://ecf.cand.uscourts.gov/cand/09cv2292/files/09cv2292-ORDER.pdf )〕 Same-sex marriage can provide those in same-sex relationships who pay their taxes with government services and make financial demands on them comparable to those afforded to and required of those in opposite-sex marriages. Same-sex marriage also gives them legal protections such as inheritance and hospital visitation rights.〔Handbook of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Administration and Policy — Page 13, Wallace Swan – 2004〕 Various faith communities around the world support allowing those of the same sex to marry, while many major religions oppose same-sex marriage. Opponents of same-sex marriages have argued that recognition of same-sex marriages would erode religious freedoms, undermine a right of children to be raised by their biological mother and father or erode the institution of marriage itself.
Some analysts state that financial, psychological and physical well-being are enhanced by marriage, and that children of same-sex parents or carers benefit from being raised by two parents within a legally recognized union supported by society's institutions.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Brief of the American Psychological Association, The California Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy as amici curiae in support of plaintiff-appellees – Appeal from United States District Court for the Northern District of California Civil Case No. 09-CV-2292 VRW (Honorable Vaughn R. Walker) )〕〔 available online: http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/118/1/349〕 Court documents filed by American scientific associations also state that singling out gay men and women as ineligible for marriage both stigmatizes and invites public discrimination against them.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Brief of Amici Curiae American Anthropological Association et al., supporting plaintiffs-appellees and urging affirmance – Appeal from United States District Court for the Northern District of California Civil Case No. 09-CV-2292 VRW (Honorable Vaughn R.
